Ride to Conquer Cancer

50ish cyclists gathered at the corner of Rene-Levesque and University to get peoples’ attention and help launch the 2010 edition of the Ride to Conquer Cancer, to be held on July 10-11, 2010. Similar events also happened in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
These devoted cyclists braved the cold and rain (OK…drizzle) to raise awareness for the cause, by raising their bicycles over their heads.
People of all sorts came out to the event. Most brought their own bikes, and some came without, just to be involved. One gentleman felt he absolutely needed a bike to participate, but didn’t have one of his own, so he rented a BIXI to take part. Try raising a BIXI over your head…not an easy task, I’m sure!
