Yet another cover! Votre Maison - Hiver 2010
Tuesday, November 17th, 2009I started shooting for Votre Maison earlier this year and this is my first edition with them. The magazine hit the shelves this past September and here I am on the cover!
THIS was actually my first published cover, as it came out prior to the Fall edition of Maison d’Aujourd’hui, just by a few weeks. OK, OK…so I lied…
I was a little disappointed (but still excited) when I received my copy in the mail, since I was expecting a different photo on the cover. Several of the shots I had taken were contenders, but I had not expected this one, since it was a landscape shot. “What a funny crop” I said to myself. But regardless, I was happy!
It was only after I unwrapped the magazine and opened it up that I realized what had happened…a pull-out front cover, in order to use the full horizontal picture. WOW!
Although not all these shots were used in the magazine, these were some of my favorites from the shoot:

Funny thing is that my mandate for the front cover was to shoot a vertical image (obviously) to layout (with space in the top and bottom for text). The lanscape shot I took was THE very first image of the day, at around 6:30 AM. I was mostly taking it because it had to be taken, even though I knew it would not be used. Guess they proved me wrong!
